Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to find a project and apply, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referred to by EN 301 549.

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA. It has been built to that standard and checked by the team, but it has not yet been audited by an independent expert or tested end to end with screen readers. We will update this statement after that audit.

What is already in place:

• Full keyboard navigation, a visible focus ring and a “skip to content” link.
• Semantic landmarks, one main heading per page and headings without skipped levels.
• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background. The animated background is decorative, hidden from assistive technology and kept dim enough not to reduce that contrast.
• If your system asks for reduced motion, all ambient animation stops and the background becomes static.
• Forms with real labels, errors announced to screen readers, and touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
• Every page works without JavaScript for reading; the content is rendered on the server.

• Project infopacks are PDF files prepared with partner organisations and may not be fully accessible. Ask us and we will send the information in another format.
• Some calls collect applications on an external Google Form, whose accessibility we do not control. If it does not work for you, write to us and we will take your application another way.
• The site is in English by default. Its public pages can also be shown in Spanish, Italian or Portuguese with the language selector at the top; the legal pages (privacy, terms, cookies and this statement) are in English and Spanish only. The descriptions of each project, the consent boxes of the application form and the private pages our emails link to are mostly in English.

If something does not work for you, or you need information in another format, write to us or email info@dreamingawake.eu. We reply within 20 working days, and sooner if a deadline is close.

This statement was prepared on 2026-10-29 from a self-assessment by the team. It is reviewed at least once a year and after any significant change to the website.
